Channelry · published by Cyquila
Summary
Channelry is a social media management tool: a business (“the Operator”) uses Channelry to connect social media accounts belonging to their own clients (“Connected Accounts”) and publish content to those accounts on the client’s behalf. This policy explains what data Channelry accesses through each connected platform’s official API, how it’s stored, and how it’s used. It does not cover the connected platforms’ own handling of your data outside of what Channelry requests — see “Connected platforms,” below.
What we access, and why
When an Operator connects a Connected Account, the account owner completes that platform’s own OAuth consent screen (Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, LinkedIn, or YouTube) and grants Channelry specific, limited permissions. Depending on the platform and permissions granted, this can include:
- An access token (and refresh token, where the platform issues one) — used to make API calls on the account’s behalf. We never see or store the account’s platform password.
- Basic account identifiers — e.g. a platform user ID and display name, needed to show the Operator which account a post is going to (for TikTok, this is the
user.info.basicscope). - Content submitted for publishing — the video, image, caption, and related post metadata the Operator submits through Channelry, sent to the platform’s API solely to publish that post.
- Publish status — the platform post ID and publish/processing status returned after a post is submitted, so the Operator can see whether it succeeded.
Channelry does not read, browse, or export a Connected Account’s existing posts, followers, messages, or any content beyond what a specific publish action requires.
How we store it
Access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and are only decrypted at the moment of making an API call to the relevant platform. Tokens are never logged or exposed in plaintext.
How we use it
Solely to publish content the Operator has submitted for a Connected Account, and to report back whether that publish succeeded. We do not use Connected Account data to train models, for advertising or analytics profiling, or for any purpose beyond fulfilling the requested publish action. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties.
Data retention & revocation
Tokens are retained only as long as the Connected Account remains active in Channelry. The Operator (or the account owner, through that platform’s own account settings) can disconnect at any time — this stops future access and, per each platform’s own support, revokes the granted token. Removing a Connected Account deletes its stored tokens from our systems.
Connected platforms
Each connected platform (Meta/Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube/Google) has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data. Connecting an account to Channelry does not change what that platform does with your data outside of the specific API calls described above. Channelry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these platforms.
Children’s privacy
Channelry is a business tool intended for agencies and their adult business clients. It is not directed at children under 13, and is not knowingly used to manage accounts belonging to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as Channelry evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
